Last Thursday, more than 700 #TeamFerrara members across the country came together for our annual Day of Service,?inspiring sweetness in the communities where we live and work. In partnership with impactful organizations, our teams wrote thoughtful cards, harvested fresh produce, assembled meal kits, conducted mock interviews, compiled care packages, sorted essential items, cleaned up the Chicago River – and so much more. Thank you to our inspiring partner organizations?– it was one sweet day of creating meaningful change!?

We were honored to lead a Sensory Herb Bouquet Workshop at Ferrara Candy Company’s Disability Pride Month celebration – an event hosted by their InAWE Business Resource Group, which champions full inclusion for individuals with diverse abilities. Last week, the Village Of Forest Park and Mayor Rory Hoskins celebrated longtime Ferrara employee Silvia Avila with an honorary way in her name, recognizing her role as the face of Ferrara’s candy shop in the Forest Park community. For 25 years, Silvia managed the candy shop, building relationships with neighbors who frequented the store – some visiting daily as part of their commute, some on delivery and mail routes, teens coming home from school, and families whose generations came to know Silvia. We were proud to join the Village in celebrating Silvia's spirit of service, and the ties between Ferrara and the Forest Park community -- home to our plant since 1959 and today producing some of the country’s favorite candies, including NERDS, Trolli, Black Forest, and SweeTARTS. ???? Ferrara’s Evoke Pride Business Resource Group made Pride Month unforgettable. ??? The month was filled with moments that united us, including a keynote event with Brave Space Alliance, Drag Show at The Old Post Office Chicago and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) Pride celebration.? The grand finale? We proudly marched in the Chicago Pride Parade alongside the Chicago Gay Men's Chorus and our colorful SweeTARTS float -- spreading love, sweet energy, and plenty of candy.? This June, we joined National Confectioners Association in celebrating National Candy Month, inspiring sweetness within Ferrara and throughout our local communities. ? Alongside our civic and community partners, we celebrated moments of joy and highlighted the confectionery industry’s meaningful impact -- supporting more than 690,000 U.S. jobs and driving $49 billion in U.S. economic activity.? ? As for our U.S. manufacturing sites, Ferrara employs more than 2,800 in Illinois and California, where we produced nearly 490 million pounds of candy last year! ? Team Ferrara made waves, taking home first place in our division at the Chicago Chinatown Chamber of Commerce Dragon Boat Race for Literacy – an annual event celebrating Asian American culture and supporting Chicago literacy programs. Organized by our Heritage of Asian American and Pacific Islanders (HAAPI) Employee Business Resource Group and sponsored by HAAPI brand partner Black Forest, team members across Ferrara proved that our values of empowerment, collaboration, and agility make for a winning team, even outside the office! ?????? Last week, #TeamFerrara commemorated #Juneteenth with a meaningful celebration honoring the culture, history, and resilience of the African American community.
