Plumbing Designer / BIM Coordinator for a new hospital campus on a 42-acre green field site. The 492,000 sf hospital, universal care center, and wellness campus will support a growing patient population, as well as accommodate a decanting of specific patient volumes from the main UWHC campus. The three wing facility houses: a 56-bed inpatient hospital for orthopedic and general medical/surgical patients; two floors of clinic exam rooms for outpatient care in a variety of clinical specialties; a universal care center for outpatient diagnostic and treatment procedures; physical and occupational therapy; a wellness, fitness, and sports performance wing with therapeutic pool, sports courts, sprint track, classrooms, and demonstration kitchen; and a 24-hour emergency center. AEI is a member of an integrated project delivery team and is providing MEP/FP/T engineering design, architectural lighting design, sustainable planning and design, and energy modeling. Our scope of work extends to the site’s thermal utilities, which include a de-coupled central utility plant and distribution for chilled water and steam. Goal: LEED Silver.

Plumbing Designer for the design of this 520,000 sf facility, and its supporting central utility plant, which integrates human, foreign animal, and zoonotic disease research, development and testing that allows for research to enhance agricultural and public health. NBAF contains significant space devoted to biocontainment labs, rated BSL-2, -3E, -3AG, and -4. Research support spaces include cold rooms, fermentation rooms, imaging, and a 70,000 sf vivarium. The University of Chicago Medical Center - Comer Children's Hospital Emergency Department Expansion
Piping Designer / BIM Coordinator for the MEP/T design services for a 142,000 sf, Level I pediatrics emergency department consisting of a basement and four floors. The facility contains 22 exam rooms, two trauma/resuscitation bays and two procedure rooms. The facility's goal is to serve 40,000 visits per year.
